Ingredients
- 1 C Peanut Butter
- 1 C Icing Sugar
- 1 C Maraschino Cherries
- 1 C Pecans
- 1 C Dates
- Pinch of salt
- 2 TBS Soft Butter*
- 4-5 Squares Semi-Sweet Chocolate*
- Piece of Paraffin*
*You may have difficulty finding paraffin. If you don't find it at your grocery store, try an art store in with the candle making supplies. This recipe can be made vegan if you can find semi-sweet chocolate that does not contain milk ingredients--depending on where you live this could be a challenge. There are lots of butter substitutes that are pretty widely available.
Directions
- Finely chop the dates, pecans and maraschino cherries.
- Combine all ingredients except chocolate and wax and roll into small balls (about the size of a walnut or smaller)
- Refridgerate at least 15 minutes. Making ahead and leaving overnight is a great plan if possible.
- Using a double boiler (or holding one pot inside a second pot filled with boiling water) melt chocolate and wax together, stirring constantly.
- Using a spoon, dip balls in chocolate and place on waxed paper to harden. Makes about 55 balls.
